They were both confused and they learned together and set their own terms and understanding of the mating bond. It was nice to see them standing on equal grounds when it came to their bond. I really enjoyed the way the relationship developed through the story and how we saw both Seren and Kadoc grow both together and as individuals. Up until the last few chapters I was convinced this series is going to be each couple having a book, but I was surprised in a good way that it’s actually not the case. You get enough fantasy bits to make it interesting and spice up the blandness of chick lits, but it also has the same level of complexity and depth as any other rom-com. This was one of those books that I call “fantasy chick lit”.
